We are StylePedal Clothing Co. Limited (“we/us”) and operate the StylePedal website alongside our physical stores (excluding certain international franchises). We are wholly owned by River Island Holdings Limited.

We act as the data controller for your personal information and are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office under registration number Z6555707.

The following legal frameworks govern how we protect your personal data when you use StylePedal online or visit our stores:

  • i) For UK residents, the UK GDPR as specified by the Data Protection, Privacy and Electronic Communications (Amendments etc) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 apply;

  • Interactions with our customer service team (calls may be recorded), and visits to our stores, website, or app

  • Preferred stores, categories, brands, and budget info

  • IP address

  • Images including CCTV and facial recognition captured by Facewatch (see section 15)

If you choose Klarna Pay Later, your data will be processed independently by Klarna in line with their privacy policy.

9. Where Is Your Data Stored?
Some of our partners may operate outside the European Economic Area, but we require them to maintain the same data protection standards required in the EU.

10. Children’s Data
You must be at least 16 years old to shop with us online. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s internet use accordingly.

11. Your Data Rights and How to Exercise Them

  • Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data where processing is based on consent (excluding transactional data we must retain)

Please note processing requests can take up to 30 days.

12. Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your data, contact our Data Protection Officer first. If unresolved, UK residents may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at 0303 123 1113 or www.ico.org.uk/concerns.

13. California Residents (CCPA)
If you live in California, in addition to the above, we may collect:

  • Commercial info, including purchases and preferences

  • Geolocation data

  • Browsing and interaction history

  • Profile inferences based on data

You have rights to request access to or deletion of personal info twice in 12 months, and to opt out of data sales (though StylePedal does not sell your data). For inquiries, email customer.services@stylepedal.com.

You cannot be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

14. Body Worn Cameras (BWCs)
In some stores, BWCs are used to protect staff and customers during incidents. These capture video and audio, with data encrypted and stored securely for 30 days unless needed for investigations. Access is limited to authorized personnel and law enforcement.

15. Facial Recognition
Facewatch facial recognition is used in some premises for crime prevention. We share incident details with Facewatch and receive alerts about known offenders. This is carried out under public interest legal bases. Signage is displayed where used.

16. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services and legal requirements. Please check back regularly for the latest version.
